Probate Registration

Probate Applications must now be done using the online portal. Certain circumstances will mean that you will need to send a postal application.

For simple Estate, an IHT205 is now no longer required to be accompanied by the application.

The Probate application fee has now increased to £273 for Personal or professional applications.

Despite, what appears to be a simpler process, it is important that the application is completed accurately and records of assets kept.  On second death, for example, with house prices increasing, there may be a need to utilise a transferable allowance or the Residence Nil Rate band. In not keeping adequate records more problems may be created going forward.
